About AEJ Phonics Path

Our mission

AEJ Language Academy built Phonics Path because children build reading foundations by doing, not by watching. AEJ Phonics Path is an interactive web-based phonics learning platform where children watch short lessons, pronounce each sound aloud, receive instant pronunciation feedback, and unlock the next lesson only after demonstrating mastery. Our mission is to turn passive screen time into active, verified pronunciation practice that a parent can actually hear.

What AEJ Phonics Path teaches

The path covers phonemic awareness, letter-sound correspondence and blending, following a structured letter-sound progression sequence across 33 lessons in Book 1 and Book 2. Each lesson carries a cumulative 2-sound review, so earlier sounds keep coming back instead of being learned once and forgotten.

Our learning philosophy

Unlike passive video-based phonics apps, AEJ Phonics Path uses a gated mastery system: children cannot advance by watching alone. They must speak the target sound aloud, have it evaluated in real time, and demonstrate correct pronunciation before the next lesson unlocks. Progression is the evidence of learning, which is what makes this a mastery-based reading app rather than a playlist.

Why pronunciation matters

Saying a sound is active recall: the child has to retrieve it, shape it with their mouth and hear themselves do it. Recognising a letter on a screen is far easier than producing its sound, and only the second one transfers to reading a new word. That is why pronunciation-based phonics sits at the centre of every lesson here.

A note on privacy

Your child's pronunciation is evaluated in the moment and the recording is not stored. We keep a parent email, the child's first name or nickname, and lesson progress — nothing else. Full detail lives in our Privacy Policy, and common parent questions are answered on the FAQ.
